God's Calling and Preparation

Writer's picture: Steve TysonSteve Tyson

When God calls you to a specific work He will send what is needed to accomplish that work. In this story we see Michael standing with a sword declaring no allegiance to humans or spirits but only to God himself. LESSON: There is Godly strength in this position. Joshua 5:13-15 'Now when Joshua was near Jericho (was with him through the journey to get there), he looked up and saw a man standing in front of him with a drawn sword in his hand (battle stance). Joshua went up to him and asked, “Are you for us or for our enemies?” 14 “Neither,” he replied, “but as commander of the army of the Lord (Michael) I have now come.” (the only angel seen though he commanded the Army- much strength and might was with him yet invisible) Then Joshua fell facedown to the ground in reverence, and asked him, “What message does my Lord have for his servant?” 15 The commander of the Lord’s army replied, “Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy.” And Joshua did so. ~ Christianity is not a spectator sport. God has called you and equipped you and sent a fighting force to you so you can fulfill your specific assignment. Think of that fighting force as angels and the church. How can we help you?
