In the Book of John Jesus asks the man by the pool 'Do you want to get healed?' Our Wednesday night study by James MaCDonald on learning to 'Think Differently'. This happened on the Sabbath to boot and according to John 5:9-13 Jews stopped the man and said 'it is unlawful for you to take up your bed!' But he answered them 'The man who healed me, that man said to me, "Take up your bed and walk" but the man who was healed did not know the name of the man who healed him...Jesus. CONCLUSION: Good news but on the wrong day according to some. These disgruntled Jews want to be in charge, in your face, even if it means telling God what he could do or not. LESSON: The man at the pool did not get saved, he got healed. But Jesus had a plan for him and for us and went to where he was after he got healed... John 5:14 'Afterwards Jesus found him in the temple and said to him, 'See, you are well! Sin no more that nothing worse will happen to you. TRANSLATION: Jesus is not saying his sin made him sick and if he continued to sin he would get sicker. No! Jesus was saying...'You have a PATTERN of sin in your life that needs to be broken. Even though your healed after 38 years, if you don't get healed to a deeper level than where your at....your going to a place that makes 38 years by the pool seem like a vacation. ~ This is a great study.
